So It Begins

March 19, 2011

Good Morning Everyone!

I would like to welcome you to a little bit of what we do. I will be your host on this adventure; you can call me Penny…Penny Picayune. The “we” refers to a small circle of friends brought together by a single discipline. And from that single discipline came two; something fresh, at times renewed, and something watched, at times re-viewed. What exactly does that mean? Well, our dear friends, it means that we cook, we eat, we watch…have fun. And this blog will detail said items, as each has run their due.

We have collectively decided to have one “cooking-night” and one “movie-night” per week.

For cooking-night (much like Iron-Chef, but without the time constraints, without the “chefs” nor Fukui-san…but we do bring the iron): (1) a single ingredient is chosen at random, (2) that ingredient must be used in the dish being prepared by individual cooks, and (3) at most 5 additional ingredients can be used in the dish. In regards to the additional ingredients, at most one protein can be used (if desired). Milk, water, butter, herbs and spices do not count as additional ingredients. Once the cooking is completed, as with all meals, we dine as a family and refresh our palettes with a game of cards and delightful banter.

Movie-night is much more simpler. We randomly pick and watch movies and films.

As stated above, this blog will let you, our dear friends, know exactly how and what it is we cook, we eat, we watch…have fun. We hope that you enjoy show.
